Capturing the World’s oldest and grandest libraries

A good friend once told me that when Winter comes around you better have a healthy stockpile of literature to get you through the painfully arctic conditions, or else boredom – and eventually cabin fever – will inevitably set in and the only thing you’ll have to keep you warm is four paper-thin shirts and recollections of Summer. I don’t have a huge collection of books, but I know were to find them.

With an affinity for one of our planet’s oldest educational and artistic institutions, New York-based, French photographer Franck Bohbot documents the alluring aesthetic and consistently replenished bookcases of ancient libraries in his ongoing series entitled ‘House of Books‘.
