Beyonce & Jay-Z released a surprise, star-studded trailer last night. The video, earning 750K+ views in less than 24 hours, features Don Cheadle, Jake Gyllenhaal, Sean Penn, Blake Lively, Emmy Rossum and more! It’s a sequel of the couple’s “’03 Bonnie & Clyde” music video. Guns, motorcycles, and Beyonce floating in a pool full of $100 bills? Yes, please. But, please beware: it’s rated R for Rocnation.
I really need Beyonce to stop springing things on me at last minute. I was just minding my own business when I saw the video posted on Tumblr. I dropped absolutely everything and savored every second of the 4 minute video. I find it interesting that “On the Run” came out soon after the the couple released a statement on the elevator fiasco.
Initially, I was devastated when the “Run” trailer ended with “Coming Never”. But, when I gave it some thought, I’m actually glad that this isn’t a full-length feature film. I don’t think my little heart would be able to handle it. I’ve been wanting a star-studded music video from the Carters since hearing “Lift Off” from Watch the Throne. “Run” how upset I am that I won’t be attending one of their shows for the tour.
The video’s ending erupted a huge upset on Twitter. Words like petty and childish were being thrown around quite often. With the surprise album drop back in December and then this short film, Beyonce is one of the best trolls of the internet!
